New ways to learn

Postby wademcnary » Tue Aug 17, 2010 3:59 pm

Version 2.0 contains:

- an improved learning algorithm as we continue to whittle away the few compatibility issues
- the ability upload and download remotes from within the app so users can share remotes
- a database of preprogrammed remotes for customers experiencing problems assigning codes (more to come)
- the ability for L5 support to upload remotes for customers experiencing problems
- the ability for users to upload Pronto Hex Codes like those found on RemoteCentral.com

Version 2.5 will include more database management features.

The Dish network patch is done. We have successfully tested the Dish remotes with several models. We apologize for this delay, and thank you for your patience. If you have any further issues with the Dish device, please post them here with specific details.

I am not able to hook up my Dish remotes. Any time I hit the Sat button on the remote - it does not link with the L5/iphone connection....please advise....

I am having the same problem with my direct tv remote. Every time i try to teach the l5 from my direct tv remote it fails! Very frustrating!!!! I have scoured the web & this site to no avail. Ready to send it back, please help. Aren't the top cable & sat providers the biggest need for a device like this? Why don't they work? PLEASE HELP!

We haven't had any other reports of problems with Direct TV. Be sure you don't have any interfering IR, especially from a plasma TV. Send us the model of the box, we'll program the remote, load it to the web server, and send you the name to download from within the app.

Hi Wade, I am Octavi from Barcelona. Full success when copying lots of RC signals but fail to copy two home automation remotes (air conditioning and lighting). Pls tell me if there is a way to find hex codes or what (Simon Vis lighting RC and Heatmiser air conditioning RC).Thanks in advance.

http://www.remotecentral.com/ has the biggest collection of hex codes online. We can also check other databases to see if anyone has them.

Hi octie,

If you could let me know the name and model numbers of the remotes you need I can build them for you. Let me know which buttons are the most important to have. I'll see what I can do for you. Email me back at support@L5technology.com

Thanks! :geek:

I am also having a problem with direct tv. All the house works except one. Box model number hr24-500 is the only one that keeps giving me errors. The downloadable remote also works across the house but not on the one main box.

Make sure the DirecTV box is set to receive IR from the remote. Some units are set to RF when they are shipped. You'll have to consult your DirecTV user manual to see how.
